Emulators

This is probably what I consider to be the coolest “extra” with a modded Xbox — having it run emulators so you can play games from older consoles. I found an emulator package that was 4.3GB worth of games for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Sega Genesis! Let me tell you, playing MarioKart64 and Sonic the Hedgehog without actually having to have those systems hooked up is fantastic! The old games are such classic fun.

Some games run a lot better than others. For example, while MarioKart64 works flawlessly, I’ve never seen 007: Goldeneye run correctly on any emulator, be it on an Xbox or a PC. In original Super Mario Brothers (Nintendo), it runs well except the music seems too fast. All in all, though, tons of fun.
