Athens

Athens is a WordPress theme with a simple, clean look. It features my advanced WordPress navigation options (just like Atlantis) and includes three color schemes — blue (default), red, and green.

You can read all about installing and using the customizing features of the theme in the README file (also included in the ZIP download).

Athens requires WordPress 2.1.

Please read the README file carefully and if you have any questions or encounter any issues, post them in the comments form below. Thank you, and enjoy!

  • I use wordpress and i am excited about your theme.
I would like to have the menu system you have.
    BLOG
    ARTICLES
    TECH
and then they have all sub menus which you will only see after you klick the for example ARTICLES menu.
    How are they called?
    Where can i find them?
    Can i use yours?

  • Vincent,

That functionality is specific to my themes. I rewrote the navigation functions to look for specific metadata tags on posts in order to help build the hierarchy. There might be plugins out there with similar functionality, I don’t know. I wrote this myself right into my themes. You can probably look at my files and see how I did it.

  • I installed this theme and really like it. Nicely built. I do have one issue. I’m using WordPress 2.3.3 (the newest version as of this posting) and when I click on a post’s comment link it doesn’t simply shows the post again – no comment section. I have comments turned on and when I switch to one of the other default themes, it works fine.

When I looked at the way the link is being built, it appears to be missing the #respond or #comments at the end of the URL. I looked through the README.html and didn’t see anything about having to “turn on” comments in the theme itself.

I’m sure I’m missing something simple, any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Garret
