The Adama/Rosyln relationship is - for a TV Show - amazingly deep and for me one of the reasons I keep watching BSG. It will be really interesting to watch the characters handle the tension that the discovery of a devastated earth brought in. Does Laura give up or does she pull herself together? Will Bill let her slip away, now that they both finally admitted their love?
Like you pointed out: the series returns to some of its roots. It's a bold move by the authors, but it's a necessary one. Just as necessary as the revealing of the 5th cylon. I'm really glad the way it turned out - this way the remaining episodes can concentrate on what made the series strong: all of the main characters, and not just on a single one.

I'm already counting the hours for the next episode.
