I'm reminding of a recent episode of The Big Bang Theory where three of the main characters were sitting around playing Jenga discussing robot ethics. When the Leonard walks in and asks what is going on Sheldon quickly replies: "The Internet has been down for half an hour." My parents didn't get that joke, but I found it hilarious. While I don't quite break out the board games after 30 minutes, my work and hobbies are several hamstrung by lack of internet. I would go quite nuts during a prolonged outage :\
