Transformers movie review

Posted by Matthew on June 29, 2007 at 4:28 pm

At this point, we all know comic-book remakes can fall into the “fantastic” category (e.g., Batman Begins and Spiderman), or the “extreme suckage” category (e.g., Hulk and Fantastic Four…ugh, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little). So with one of the decade’s most hotly-anticipated action/comic remake films just days away, some people are wondering where Michael Bay’s extreme — and expensive — Transformers will fall.

It looks like you can rest easy, Transformers fans. According to one very enthusiastic reviewer, it rocks:

This summer’s blockbuster has finally arrived people. Only it’s not a mere blockbuster, it’s a two and a half hour atomic bomb… strapped to a roller-coaster… filled with snakes… on fire!

The action is off the charts, apparently, and raises the bar an amount not spoken of since The Matrix first appeared on the scene. In the tradition of Jurassic Park and Independence Day (the all-time ultimate summer blockbuster), Transformers should be a blast to watch.

The movie opens July 3. Read the review here.

I was crossing my fingers that somebody was walking behind him during the entire filming process repeating “Giant robots from space, giant robots from space, giant robots from space…” just so he wouldn’t lose focus and try to put in too much of a love story or a “GO AMERICA” theme. Hopefully that happened.

Hahaha… I heard it was FANTASTIC by friends who saw it this weekend. I am dying to see it - I love the Goo Goo Dolls song that was written for it :D:D:D Listen for Johnny’s amazing voice.

I saw it last night, and it was a ot of fun. No spoilers, but it was very funny, very thrilling and very ‘giant robots from space’ :)

Oddly, my strongest memory of the film was of the last trailer before the film started, which seems to be for an even better, more explosive film. They didn’t say what the film was, though.

I literally just got back from seeing this movie, and it was indeed a ton of fun! The perfect summer blockbuster…action-packed, funny, attractive babe, and oh yeah, huge robots beating the crap out of each other. FANTASTIC special effects.
