The iPhone — succinctly
January 9, 2007
With all the hubbub surround the launch of Apple’s fancy new iPod/phone/internet device called the iPhone today, there’s more than enough information kicking around the ‘net to make anyone’s head swirl. If you’d like it all in one professionally-written, quality dose, check out Time Magazine’s revealing article about the genesis of the iPhone, what it could mean for you, and what it means for the mobile market. The iPhone is an orgy of hot technology in one slim little package, and although it won’t ship until June you can bet a great number of people will be salivating over it for the next six months. Says Lev Grossman from Time:
“Apple’s new iPhone could do to the cell phone market what the iPod did to the portable music player market: crush it pitilessly beneath the weight of its own superiority. This is unfortunate for anybody else who makes cell phones, but it’s good news for those of us who use them.”
Read on and desire (and start saving your pennies).

This phone is awesome. Though I am sure most bugs will be worked out, I will probably wait until at least late 2007 or early 2008 to buy it.
Did apple buy the patent on multi-touch screens? Because they surely did not invent it.
