Record player outsells Zune

December 1, 2006

I obviously haven’t written a lot lately because I’ve been so busy, but I couldn’t pass this one up after writing my article about how bad Microsoft blew it with the Zune. If you look at Amazon’s Top Selling Electronics list, not only is it topped by a plethora of iPods, but as of this writing at least two record players are outselling the Zune. Yeah, that’s right, those gigantic vinyl things from the previous century. It’s like some company releasing a hot DVD player and it gets outsold by a reel-to-reel machine. Ah, sweet justification for my (and pretty much everyone else’s) conclusions. We’re a little over a week and a half into the Zune’s retail life and so far it’s nothing but a huge flop. It almost makes me feel sorry for Microsoft. Almost.
