MIT sketching system

October 5, 2006

This is amazing: a natural-interaction physics sketching system. You can draw things, and they come to life! Watch the whole video to fully appreciate the incredible potential of this type of intelligent programming. What MIT is touching on here is what I consider to be the holy grail of human-computer interaction: a fully natural experience where the input medium is as non-abstracted as possible.

  • That is amazing, it’ll be interesting to see how this changes things in the next few years.

  • That’s really cool. Really, they are just touching on the idea of human-computer interaction. From what I see, the programming isn’t that intelligent. The proram is just recognizes the simple geometry of a ball, and the rough dynamics to simulate the setup. And who knows even if the dynamics are right?
