I had a 645 that also had the 2-3 second delay and I upgraded to the 655 because I thought that problem was resolved. Unfortunately, for me stores are selling what they promise is a 655 optimized for Blackberry for an additional $60, but the rep I spoke to sat Plantronics said that they have not yet released that headset. I'm confused. Can someone tell me if they have tried the Plantronics "Discovery 655 b" and if so, if the 3 seond delay is resolved? I've also experienced static in the earpice...anyone else out there with that problem? The 2-3 second delay is really annoying. I've been trying to find the headset that would work with both my phone (currently a RAZR) and a handheld well enough and so far no luck. Has anyone tried pairing the 655 with an Ipaq? Shipment went out on the same day of purchased. After two days of anxiously waiting and tracking, I finally received my headset through UPS shipping. I have tried many bluetooth headsets in the pass including Jabra BT500, BT800, Moto H3, H500, HS850, H700 (own a B version), Plantronics 510, 640, and Logitech traveler with wind blocker. Let me tell you, the minutes that I played back a test call recorded from this unit to my voice mail, I knew it's a keeper. Incoming and outgoing voice quality are crystal clear in quiet environment. I made a few test calls to other people and got positive responses from all them. Appearantly, the out going voice volume from this headset is amplified making my voice sound better than the handset itself. I'm using a vx8100. Previously, all other headsets that I tried (listed above) have distorted out going sound. The end callers described my voice sounds like a robot, muffled, or choppy. The Plantroics 655 on the other hand alliviates on the out going voice quality making it suitable for daily use. My main purpose of me buying a wireless headset is to use it inside my car while driving on the high way. Surpricingly, the Plantronics 655 (with DSP on) provides crystal clear sound up to 60 mile/hr on a high way inside my Lexus IS300. Any speed higher than that makes your voice sound distorted, robot like, and choppy. None of the Moto headset that I tested in the pass are good enough to drive on the high way at all beside the Plantronic 510. The only downside on the Plantronics Discovery 655 headset is the internal battery. 3.5 hours rated talk time is barely enough for daily use. I found myself ran out of power after 2 hours of continuos talking. The lagging time on this unit is around 2-3 second from the minute you press the button on the unit to pickup an incoming call to the time it actually established the communication. I just have to get use to this and wait for an audible beep before start the conversation. The voice command function does not work well with my phone. The headset goes into power saving mode after a few minutes of inactivities. Pressing the voice command (press hold few seconds) activate the voice command menu on the phone but it does not transmit the voice signals until a few seconds later making voice command almost useless. The Moto H700 on the other hands works almost instantenous in this area. The Plantronics Discovery 655 is one of the best headset that I ever own. Despite a few minor flaws, the voice qaulity on this unit put it above its competition. I bought my Plantronics Discovery 655 at headsetdirect.com for $113 shipped.
